Add a Window to your Airstream Trailer

If your Airstream is feeling a little dark inside, why not add a window? We currently have 2 sizes of windows made for Airstream trailers, motorhomes and Argosy trailers. These curved glass fixed windows lend themselves to easy installation. Cutting a hole in the side of your trailer can be a bit intimidating but once you’ve done it, you may feel liberated! I have a friend that installs sunroofs in brand new Cadillacs. After a sale to the customer (wanting a sunroof), the car dealer would bring the car to him for the addition. Cutting a large hole in the roof of a new car is not for the faint-of-heart. But after performing this feat several times, my friend thought of it as ‘no big deal.’

The windows discussed in this article were originally made for Airstream and Argosy motorhomes. The only difference is the absence of pre-drilled rivet holes. Of course that is easily remedied with a drill.

The top window has a glass area of 17″ wide x 25″ high. Find this window in our store by clicking here.

The bottom window has a glass area of 17″ wide x 30″ high. Find this window in our store by clicking here.

These windows start nearly flat at the bottom. As you progress up the window, the curve becomes more pronounced. A quick dry fit against your trailer will show their ideal mounting position.  Once the hole is cut in, place sealer around the inside lip of the window frame and slide the window into position.  Then it’s just a matter of drilling and riveting in place.

Both glass windows are encased in an aluminum frame ready to be polished to match your trailer.   The windows are plenty deep enough to fit flush on the inside – ready for your finish trim.
